The China Three Gorges Corporation was established in 1993 with the approval of the State Council. It is a large central enterprise primarily engaged in the development and operation of large-scale hydropower projects, making it the world's largest hydropower development and operation company, as well as China's largest clean energy group. In 2017, it was restructured into a wholly state-owned company. Its main business includes hydropower engineering construction and management, power generation, and related professional technical services. In September 2021, it was awarded the title of "Model of Charity" at the 11th "China Charity Award." The largest charitable donation in 2021 was 442 million yuan to the Three Gorges Corporation Public Welfare Foundation.
